General Dynamics Boosts Partnership With AWS To Drive Quantum Computing And AI For US Government

General Dynamics Corporation (NYSE:GD) shares are trading relatively flat on Friday.

General Dynamics Information Technology, or GDIT, a business unit of General Dynamics, announced an expanded partnership with Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) Amazon Web Services today to enhance government missions.

The companies have entered a new Strategic Collaboration Agreement aimed at cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, cloud migration, and modernization solutions.

Through this collaboration, GDIT and AWS will focus on advancing federal agencies’ digital transformation by utilizing AWS’ secure cloud computing environment.

According to Benzinga Pro, GD stock has lost 5% in the past year. Investors can gain exposure to the stock via First Trust Exchange-Traded Fund First Trust Indxx Aerospace & Defense ETF (NYSE:MISL).

The partnership will deliver solutions for defense, intelligence, and civilian agencies, with a special emphasis on emerging technologies like quantum computing, edge computing, and high-performance computing.

GDIT will use its research and development labs to co-develop new innovations alongside AWS.

Key areas of focus include bolstering cybersecurity for defense agencies, enhancing real-time intelligence, improving healthcare outcomes, reducing fraud at civilian agencies, and advancing high-performance computing research.

GDIT’s senior vice president and chief technology officer, Ben Gianni highlighted that this partnership will provide cost-effective, scalable solutions to address complex government challenges.

David Appel, vice president of US Federal at AWS, noted that the collaboration will support some of America’s most critical missions, utilizing AWS’s generative AI solutions to enhance the country’s leadership in AI.

Price Action: GD shares are trading higher by 0.48% to $262.43 at last check Friday.
